Helft van alle spam afkomstig vanuit Azie

Let je een beetje op jouw persoonlijke computer? Hou je deze up-to-date met de laatste antivirus software en beveiligings-patches? Dat zijn de soort vragen die je jezelf moet stellen als je niet bij wil dragen aan de “Dirty Dozen“, een onderzoek, regelmatig gehouden door Sophos, naar de landen die de meeste spam berichten doorsturen.

Het laatste rapport toont aan dat, ook al staat de VS in zijn eentje nog bovenaan, Aziatische landen waren deze keer goed voor een significant groter aandeel van wereldwijd verstuurde spam vergeleken met de zelfde periode in Q3 2010. Zuid-Korea steeg met 5 plaatsen tot nummer 2 en goed voor 9,6% van alle spam mails. India zakte hiermee naar plaats 3 met 8,8%. Indonesie, Pakistan, Taiwan en Vietnam staan pas sinds Q3 2010 in de “Dirty Dozen” lijst maar zijn samen toch al goed voor 12,6%.

Het percentage spam afkomstig vanuit Azie is dus flink toegenomen tot net iets meer dan de helft van alle spam…
